Southern Italy or the bottom part of the boot covers many historical and cultural see sights. You can enjoy the Roman ruins of Pompeii or have a more luxurious experience at the Amalfi Coast. There you can have a variety of activities such as having a day at the beach or exploring UNESCO world heritage sites. The first destination in southern Italy is Naples so you can rent your Vespa scooter from here and start your roadtrip right away!

Naples

Naples is the third-largest city in Italy and is one of the oldest inhabited urban cities in the world. The city center of the city is part of the UNESCO world heritage site and is one of the largest in Europe. There you can explore the Roman ruins of Pompeii and see the breathtaking architecture of the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Pompeii

The ancient city of Pompei is a fascinating city that is under UNESCO patronage. There you can see Roman ruins and learn more about the history of Pompeii. Like many other cities in this region, Pompeii was buried with volcanic ash and pumice due to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

The Amalfi Coast

The famous and incredibly precious Amalfi coast is a Mediterranean landscape and offers a huge natural diversity to its visitors. The city of Amalfi is also worth visiting due to the fascinating cliffs and coastal scenery that the city is surrounded by. Many other cities could be visited on the Amalfi coast such as Praiano, Ravello, Malori, etc

Apulia

Apulia is a region in Italy that is bordering the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea. The most famous city of Apulia is Bari which is a beautiful historical city with an old town and is considered to be a major nightlife district. The Apulia region was colonized by the Greeks and later on conquered by the Muslim Saracens who built Bari.

Potenza

Potenza is a highly religious city surrounded by the Basento river in the Apennine Mountain. There are a lot of churches and cathedrals to be visited in Potenza such as the San Francesco church, San Michelle, and Potenza cathedral. There you can also go hiking in the mountains or explore the beautiful religious monuments.
